Good nutrition starts from the first bites

Good nutrition plays an important role in supporting growing bodies and developing minds. That’s why we focus on six key nutrients to help provide balanced, varied meals designed with your little one’s nutritional needs in mind.

1. Iron

From around six months, babies’ iron stores begin to decline, making dietary sources of iron increasingly important. Iron supports healthy growth, the production of red blood cells and normal brain development.

2. Protein

Protein provides the building blocks growing bodies need. It supports the development and maintenance of muscles, tissues and cells.

3. Zinc

Zinc plays an important role in normal growth and development and supports a healthy immune system. It also helps the body carry out a wide range of essential processes.

4. Vitamin C

Vitamin C supports normal immune function and helps the body absorb iron from plant-based foods. Including vitamin C-rich foods alongside plant sources of iron can help support iron absorption.

5. Fibre

Fibre supports a healthy digestive system and helps maintain regular bowel movements. A variety of fibre-rich foods also contributes to a diverse and balanced diet.

6. Healthy Fats

Healthy fats provide an important source of energy for growing children and support normal growth and development, including the development of the brain and nervous system.

Feeding Information

Every stage comes with new questions.
Our feeding information is here to help you feel more confident as your little one explores new food.

Mealtimes

What do positive mealtimes look like?

Keep mealtimes relaxed and give your child the opportunity to explore and enjoy their food. Offer a variety of foods, avoid pressure to eat, and let them decide how much they are comfortable eating.

3.png

Portion Size

How much is enough?

Portion size vary as your child grows, but start small and let their hunger and fullness cues guide how much they eat. Appetite can change from meal to meal, and it's completely normal for little ones to eat more on some days and less on others.

Safety

What foods can be chocking hazards?

Always supervise your child while eating and prepare food in an age-appropriate way. Avoid hard, round, sticky or tough food that can be chocking hazards, and cut food into safe shapes and sizes for your child's stage.

Allergy

How should I introduce allergens?

Introduce common allergens one at a time when your baby is ready for solids, in small amounts and in an appropriate form. Once safely introduced, continue offering them regularly as part of your child's diet.
